Ports
Where you decide to lift and discharge your cargo is every bit as important as how well you negotiate the purchase and sale of that commodity. That's because no two ports are exactly alike and all of them - no matter where they are located in the world - present different challenges to shipowners, charterers and cargo interests. These challenges include draft restrictions, high-priced or poor quality bunkers, and an endless list of port costs that must be negotiated with the shipowner as a part of the chartering process. Failing to plan for the ports that your ship will ultimately visit is quite simply, asking for trouble. Take the right steps to ensure a smooth voyage and straightforward transaction.
